The meeting was attended by Mr. Pham Van Du – Chairman of the Vietnam Agarwood Association, along with members of the Executive Committee and representatives of chapters across the country. In a serious and responsible working atmosphere, the delegates focused on discussing organizational work, communications, and trade promotion – the key pillars for the current development of the agarwood industry.
One of the notable contents was the Executive Committee's high consensus on the policy of expanding the association's organizational system in localities. Accordingly, the Association will proceed to establish additional agarwood chapters in Binh Phuoc, Nha Trang, and Quang Ninh. This is considered a strategic step to strengthen regional connectivity, promote the potential of each locality, and create a foundation for building a sustainable agarwood value chain.
Delegates noted that Binh Phuoc has advantages in land funds and natural conditions suitable for developing Aquilaria trees; Nha Trang is a locality with a long-standing tradition, where agarwood products have already established a market position; while Quang Ninh possesses advantages in tourism and trade, which is favorable for promoting and consuming products.
In addition, communication work was also identified as an urgent task in the context of digital transformation. The Executive Committee has assigned Mr. Nguyen Van Tung to be in charge of reviewing, editing, and upgrading the Association's official website. According to the orientation, the website will become the main information and communication channel, contributing to promoting the image, products, and activities of the Association to the general public, while also supporting trade connections among members.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu – a leader of the Association – emphasized the requirement to innovate development thinking, improve product quality, and build the Vietnam agarwood brand. In the context of increasingly deep integration, the agarwood industry needs to proactively adapt and improve its competitiveness to expand domestic and international markets.
Notably, the Executive Committee also agreed to organize a thematic seminar on agarwood in the near future. The seminar is expected to gather experts, scientists, businesses, and agarwood growers to exchange experiences, update technical advancements, and propose sustainable development solutions for the industry.
Along with that, the early establishment of a Trade Promotion Board was identified as a key task to support members in finding partners, expanding consumption channels, and promoting the export of agarwood products.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam Agarwood Association Pham Van Du affirmed that with the high consensus of the Executive Committee, the set tasks will soon be implemented effectively. This will be an important basis for the Association to continue to promote its role in connecting and leading, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnam agarwood industry and enhancing its position in the market.
